One of yeseterdays more interesting web related developments was that the Guardian newspaper has opened up their content to developers.
There's two sections to all of this, first of all content and not just anything recent. Everything going to 1999. Secondly, and more interestingly, is the data store which is data collated by editorial on things like stats on health spending etc etc.
So first the New York Times, then the Grauniad, who's next. This is all very well on a national level. I wonder who will be first on a local press level?
To get access to all this rich data, you'll need an API key which you can get from the Open Platform website.
Now then, if Johnston Press (Sentinel, Derry Journal) and the Alpha Newspaper Group (Chronicle, Constitution etc) were to issue API's on their content.... :)
