Philips creates 30 new graduate jobs thanks to Invest NI

Have a guess where they are, go one, just one guess.... Belfast.

If anymore ICT jobs go to Belfast I think the island will tip over. Invest NI have put up £420,000 to aid in the creation of 30 new graduate posts. I suppose it's how you look at it and perhaps my cynical view gets in the way sometimes.

420000 divided by 30 is 14000. So that's the wages paid for.... So without any risk Philips can take on 30 grads and essentially have Invest NI pay their wages. Now the press release does say that it will bring £1m of salaries into the local economy.

To be fair the jobs were always going to be in Belfast because that's where Tomcat Clinical Systems setup originally before being acquired by Philips. Hats off to them in the medical work that the systems do.

So, we need to have some seriously good start ups in the North West (Limavady, Coleraine, Dungiven or Londonderry I don't really mind now).
