From Time: Why social networks are bad business.

Mainly on an advertising slant but still a good read.

To be honest I've been purging a lot of users from my social networks over the last few weeks. A 100 users on Twitter is about manageable before the signal to noise ratio is so bad you don't actually get quality content. As for Facebook, I just drew a line, if you don't know me then it's bye-bye.
